Paulsboro High School is mourning the death of a student who collapsed and died while playing basketball on Thursday night.

Paulsboro Police said police and EMT's were called to the Loudenslager Elementary School and found the male 16-year-old not breathing. He was brought to Inspira Medical Center Woodbury where he was pronounced dead.

Teacher Gina Morina identified the boy on her Facebook page as Derrius Moore. She called him a "talented, bright young man" who lost his life too soon.

"All the teachers say he was a very nice person. He got along with all the kids. My heart goes out to the family," Principal Paul Morina told NJ.com.

CBS Philly reported that some students wore green to school on Friday in Moore's memory
