Mostly sunny skies, low humidity, and seasonably warm temperatures will continue for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Here are your weather headlines for Wednesday, August 26, 2015...

"Goldilocks" Weather

Not too cold... Not too hot... Our weather for the next three days will be... Just right!

Humidity has officially been evicted from the Garden State by dry air. That will set up New Jersey for a trio of beautiful days. As high pressure builds on top of us today, tomorrow, and Friday, skies will remain mostly sunny (aside from a few fair-weather clouds in the afternoon). Our weather stays mostly dry this week too... there's just an isolated shower chance in far North Jersey as a weak impulse passes through later today.

As for temperatures, afternoons will be near normal for late August, with highs in the lower to mid 80s through Friday. Mornings will be a bit on the cool side, with lows in the refreshing lower 60s and even some 50s for the nights ahead.

Weekend Changes

It looks like as the weekend approaches, we'll see several weather factors increase a bit... Temperatures, humidity, and rain chances.

I don't think it will be too "hot" this weekend, but temperatures do take a step upward to the mid to upper 80s for both Saturday and Sunday. Meanwhile, as more humid air arrives, dew points will creep into the 60s. Not oppressive, but a bit sticky during the heat of the day. That humidity could also spark off some widely scattered showers at some point this weekend - mainly Saturday night into Sunday. I think (I hope) the models are overdoing the spread of the potential rain this weekend... but in any case, any rain should stay light. I think most, if not all, of your weekend will be salvaged.

Early next week, temperatures bump up further, and we could see spotty 90s by Monday and Tuesday.

Tropical Storm Erika

Erika is getting interesting... As of this writing, Tropical Storm Warnings are in effect for the Leeward Islands of the eastern Caribbean, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico. Tropical Storm Erika is not an incredibly strong or well-organized system - top winds are only 40 mph (barely a tropical storm). However, the forecast track takes Erika toward the Bahamas and the U.S. East Coast by early next week.

It's still too early to tell... but it is certainly possible for Erika to continue to tracking north along the U.S. coast. In such a scenario, New Jersey could be impacted - if not by rain and wind, then from rough surf.

Again, New Jerseyans have no reason at all to be alarmed right now. (Floridians... well, that's a different story...) This storm is definitely worth watching for now, and we will continue to give the latest updates every morning.
