The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources is investigating the death of a hunter from Pleasantville on the opening day of the buck firearms season.

Agency spokesperson Hoy Murphy says 62-year-old Fran Joseph Esposito of Pleasantville was found Monday morning by another member of his hunting party in an elevated hunting shack. Murphy says there were no visible injuries. The DNR's Law Enforcement Section is investigating Esposito's death as an unattended death. Esposito was hunting near Clark Ridge south of Sistersville in Tyler County.
