Somers Point police tell the Press of Atlantic City that 42-year-old city resident Francisco Montero-Toribio faces charges of aggravated assault, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault by auto. He's being held on $150,000 bail and it was not known Monday if he has retained an attorney.

Police say Montero-Toribio was arguing with a 32-year-old Somers Point man on Sunday when he accelerated his SUV and hit the man, pinning him to his car and causing serious injury to the man's right leg.

The man underwent surgery later Sunday and remains hospitalized in stable condition.
