Police Investigate Attempted Sexual Assault in Goshen

Middle Township police are investigating an attempted sexual assault that happened late Sunday night in Goshen.

Around 11:00 Sunday night, officers responded to the Hideaway Beach Condominiums In Goshen for a report of an attempted sexual assault. A 49-year-old female was assaulted on the beach at the end of Cooks Beach Road. The victim was grabbed by an unknown male subject who ripped the victim’s shirt and attempted to remove her shorts. The victim was able to get free and run to the safety of her vehicle.

The Middle Township Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating three possible witnesses who may have been in the area. They are described as being white males in their early twenties. They were working on a small boat that was on a trailer and attached to a pickup truck or SUV type vehicle.

The suspect in the attack is described as a white male, slender, 5'8" to 5'10", with shoulder length curly or wavy hair. Anyone with information is asked to call the Middle Township Police Department at 465-8700.
