Police Involved in Earlier Standoff at a Hotel in Absecon

WMGM-TV is reporting police remain on the scene at the Comfort Inn in Absecon after an initial search of the property failed to turn up a suspect that was reported to have a gun.

Several police departments and a bomb squad responded to the incident the Comfort Inn on the White Horse Pike in Absecon late Thursday morning. The White Horse Pike, which has since reopened, was closed for several hours as police dealt with the situation. Guests at the hotel were held in a conference room while the search took place.
