Police in Washington Township, Gloucester County, continue to search for a woman who failed to return from a walk.

Renee Sheppard left her Miller Drive home around 9:45 a.m. Thursday to take a walk in a wooded area and has not been seen or heard from since.

According to the South Jersey Times State Police have used K9 units, thermal imaging and all-terrain vehicles to look for Sheppard. The search began yesterday and continued today. Police are not sure she is in that specific area.

Washington Township Police Capt. Richard Leonard described the area as having heavy brush with a creek running through it. Leonard tells the Times there is no indication of foul play so far.

“We’re just praying for her to come back,” Sheppard's mother Marilyn told the newspaper.

Sheppard is described as white, having long reddish-brown or auburn hair,  5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing110 pounds. She was wearing dark colored pants, a tan colored jacket and a black colored shirt. Sheppard took a book and a cellphone with her on the walk.
