Powerball Jackpot at $301 Million for Wednesday
The Powerball jackpot for Wednesday night's lottery stood at $301 million early in the day, the game's highest jackpot since February.
The jackpot has been growing since a California man named Willie Nelson won $110 million in early August. The jackpot, played in 44 states, is won by matching all 5 white balls and the Powerball. In the last Powerball drawing on Saturday a ticket worth $1million for matching just the 5 white numbers was sold in Rio Grande.
The cash value of Wednesday night's Powerball jackpot is $191.4 million.
New Jersey had a Powerball winner in March when two couples from Dumont that named themselves the "Rocklin Four" shared a $40 million jackpot. Prior to that, 2013 was a lucky year for New Jersey Powerball players, with two winning tickets in August for a $448 million jackpot sold to "Ocean's 16," a group of municipal workers from Ocean County, and Mario Scarnici from Monmouth Junction.
Pedro Quezada from Passaic won a $338 million jackpot in March, 2013 and ran into legal difficulties.
The Powerball numbers, with odds of winning the jackpot at 1-in-175.2 million, are drawn at 11 p.m.
