Powerball Winner To Come Forward on Friday

New Jersey will meet its newest millionaires on Friday as the holders of the $429.6 million Powerball jackpot go public.

The New Jersey Lottery will introduce the 8 holders of the winning ticket for the sixth-largest Powerball jackpot ever at New Jersey Lottery headquarters at 3 p.m. The ticket was sold at the 7-Eleven store on Chambers Street in Trenton.

Luis Sandobol, 20, thinks he sold the winning ticket to a woman who regularly buys lottery tickets at the store. Although he didn't know the ticket was sold to a group, he hoped the winners "can do something nice with the money" and the winner was someone from the Chambersburg neighborhood.

According to the Lottery, the purchaser spent $6 for two tickets for drawings held last Wednesday and Saturday and chose the smaller lump sum payment over the higher valued annuity. So the $6 investment will be worth $284 million before taxes.

Store owner Andrea Shin received a check for $30,000 for selling the winning the ticket.

“I am so excited that the winning ticket was sold at our store. I am excited for the person and that something positive is happening for the Trenton community," Shin said.
