Walter tells the Asbury Park Press that he may have left the Marlboro area. He also thinks that his son may have grown a beard since he left his home on Tuesday after an argument. “He’s one of those guys who has to shave twice a day," Walter told the newspaper, who is also concerned about the recent cold nights.

State Police are also assisting with the the search.

Earlier, a woman who works with Walter Karwan at Jem Realty Management in Manhattan told the Asbury Park Press about the $25,000 reward for information leading to Michael.

Michael was last seen just before 11 p.m. Tuesday night at his parents home when he left after an argument. Walter's co-worker, Amy Newman, tells the Press Michael is likely on foot and doesn't have his cell phone.  He tried to check into a hotel in Freehold on Tuesday night but was turned away because he could not present any ID.

Michael is described as a high-functioning autistic white male standing 6 feet tall, weighing 220 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. He is considered to be a missing endangered person.

Newman says Michael likes movies and comic books which could offer a clue to where he may go.

The Patch of Marlboro reports police searched the area around his parents home on Tuesday night with K-9 dogs and continued their search on Wednesday.

Anyone with information about Karwan should contact Marlboro Police at 732-536-1000.
