New Jersey State Police say the number of deaths in the state linked to Superstorm Sandy has climbed to 33.

The causes of death have included drowning, hypothermia, carbon monoxide poisoning, and injuries from falling trees.

Details on the most recent casualties added to New Jersey's list were not available.

In New York City, 43 storm-related deaths were reported as of Sunday.
