Wednesday morning, two people were rescued off the coast of Cape May.

Around 10AM, calls were received by the Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay of a sinking boat. The calls described the 52-foot boat and explained that there were two passengers on board. The boat was approximately six miles off the coast.

According to Petty Officer Second Tyler Fontaine, the passengers aboard the sinking boat immediately contacted the Coast Guard via radio when they noticed something was amiss.

A response boat was launched from Cape May.

The response boat used a pump to dewater the boat as the passengers were ushered off.

No injuries have been reported.
