The chance of thunderstorms that could move slowly have prompted a Flash Flood Watch to be posted for parts of south Jersey.

Gloucester, Salem and Camden as well as Cumberland, Atlantic & Cape May counties are under the watch until late Friday night as storms could produce 1-3 inches of rain an hour in some areas. The rain is expected to move northward during the evening.

We get a break from the intense heat and humidity as a cold front crosses the area on Friday and stall off the coast on Saturday meaning the threat of showers and thunderstorms remains on Saturday under partly sunny skies.

The heat pump will go back on as the humidity starts increasing on Sunday and temperatures head for the 90s again as the Bermuda high strengthens and moves back to the west.
