FRANKLIN  — A 19-year-old Gloucester County woman has been charged with killing her own newborn.

Jade Fanz, a resident of this township, is now facing murder charges nearly a month after the body of her newborn was found on her family’s Proposed Avenue property, the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office said Thursday.

Authorities said Fanz killed the baby girl by “applying pressure to the throat” and strangling her.

Fanz also faces charges of unlawfuly disturbing, moving or concealing human remains, and abuse or neglect of a child.

Fanz was being held Thursday at Salem County jail in lieu of $250,000 bail.
