State Police Troopers Revive 74-Year-Old Man on NJ Turnpike
Trooper Charles Travis and Trooper Ryan Sleva came upon a car parked on the shoulder on the southbound side near Exit 8 in East Windsor around 3 a.m. The driver, who was a relative, had pulled over after realizing the man had lost consciousness and stopped breathing.
The officers took the man out of the car and laid him on the ground to begin applying CPR using automated external defibrillator (AED) pads attached to his chest.
The man regained consciousness after several minutes and was treated by paramedics before being taken by ambulance to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in Hamilton. He remained in the hospital Monday afternoon in stable condition.
State Police did not disclose the man's identity.
