Once we have had our last piece of turkey and pumpkin pie this Thursday, many of us will sleep like babies, and if you plan to shop the next day for Black Friday, you will need your rest.

It’s the biggest shopping day of the year...a shopaholics delight, but Black Friday is not for the faint of heart. It can be tough on your feet, your stamina and your patience. You have seen the videos of people fighting over the last doll or waiting in massive lines outside of retails stores. Making a list in advance is just one way to reduce the holiday shopping headache. We have five more ways to keep you sane and healthy on Black Friday.

    Wear comfortable shoes

    Shopping consists of a lot of walking, especially on Black Friday, so It is important to wear comfortable footwear. Sneakers, Flats, Crocs, or Moccasins are would probably be your best bet if you’re going to be shopping all day.  Remember, you do your best shopping when you’re comfortable.

    Deal With Money Issues Early

    If there are any financial limitations you need to abide by while shopping, it is important to discuss them before the actual day. This way you’ll know exactly how much to spend and avoid financial stress during the holiday season.

    Prepare for waiting in line

     We all know that Black Friday consists of big crowds and long lines, sometimes those lines can last for 24 hours. If you are brave enough to camp outside a store for a particular item or special deal, you should at least be prepared. First and foremost, make sure to be appropriately dressed for whatever the weather decides to do that day. It will most likely be cold, so make sure your bundled with a warm coat, hat and gloves. If you are camping out, bring a tent, sleeping bag, lawn chair and food for that long wait. I hope that sale is worth it!

    Get A Good Night’s sleep

    This is going to be a long day of shopping for you, so you definitely want to get enough sleep before you shop till you drop, literally. Thanksgiving is the day before, which gives you the perfect opportunity to get a full belly and crash really early. That way you’ll be well rested and shopping spree ready!

    Fuel Your body

    Shopping all day is definitely a workout, you might as well count it in as your daily cardio. That’s why it is important to eat a well-balanced breakfast in the morning before you head out. If you plan to be out for most of the day make sure to bring some healthy on-the-go snacks. I’d suggest a nice protein bar or fresh fruit, to keep your body energized during the day.
