South Jersey School Bomb Threat Was a Test Run for a Bank Robbery, Cops Say

One of the suspects in a West Deptford bank robbery has also been charged for phoning in a bomb threat to the town's high school.

West Deptford Police said Latoya Y. Bryson of Williamstown, Travis C. Stanback of Paulsboro and Quamaine J. Jackson of Sicklerville robbed the BB&T Bank branch at 998 Kings Highway at gunpoint on March 23 and made off with $141,500 in cash.

Following an investigation, Bryson was arrested in Monroe Township in Gloucester County on April 1 while Stanback was arrested by Paulsboro Police on April 2. Winslow Police arrested Jackson on April 5, according to West Deptford Police. During questioning, Stanback admitted to police that he purchased a pre-paid cell phone and used it to call in a bomb threat to West Deptford High School on March 23.

According to police, Stanback said he and Charmaine M. Stanback made the threat in order to monitor police response to the school in anticipation of the bank robbery.

Travis Stanback, Jackson and Bryson are being held at the Salem County House of Correction on bank robbery and other charges. Police said Charmaine Stanback is still wanted for questioning and faces charges relating to the bomb threat.
