Tasty, Sweet, Nutritious South Jersey Blueberries – Check Out These Recipes
July is National Blueberry Month and we are certainly in the right area for that. Eighty percent of New Jersey's blueberries come from Atlantic County's 56 farms, which are all located in or near Hammonton.
No surprise that this town has come to be known as "The Blueberry Capital Of The World." Many of these farms offer an opportunity to "pick your own" so you cannot get any fresher than that.
Not only are Blueberries tasty, they are loaded with vitamins and minerals, and high in antioxidants which can help reduce our risk of cancer. Blueberries are also good for heart health, bone strength, skin appearance, blood pressure and diabetes management. At only 60 calories per cup, they are low in calories and high in fiber.
Delicious on their own, they can also be used in a variety of different dishes. Just time for the holiday, we have five tasty patriotic recipes that you could say are really red white and blueberry!
