For those who celebrate Christmas, there aren't really any "rules"...or are there?

One mom has caused a stir with a photo she posted of her Christmas tree.

Emma Tapping is a 35-year-old mother of three from England. This is the photo in question:

That's...an INSANE amount of gifts. And the photo was quickly picked up and given the internet treatment with a new caption:

But let's give the mom in the original photo the benefit of the doubt! Maybe they are for charity! Or maybe she has a huge family. There's surely a good reason for so many presents under piled haphazardly around the tree.

Nope.

She appeared on British talk show This Morning to defend the approximately 300 gifts she bought for her 3 kids, telling them, "You can buy your children two presents or 200 but it is the way you bring them up. They could have two presents and still be a little terror. My kids know the difference between right and wrong, they appreciate everything they get and they don't get spoiled throughout the year."

She said she only spent about $2300 on the gifts. (OH, OKAY.)

Generally my motto is, "to each his own," but this seems downright crazy and insanely excessive. I don't even know if I would have been able to think of 100 toys/gifts when I was kid, let alone actually receive them all. I know we all have different budgets, and I don't think it's the amount of money she spent so much as the sheer number of actual presents.

What do you think, is this mom spoiling her kids or would you do the same if you could?
