Trump in Edison: U.S. Will Be ‘Best Friends’ with India

Donald Trump told a Hindu group in Edison on Saturday night the United States and India will improve their relationship if he is elected in November.

"Under a Trump Administration, we are going to become even better friends. In fact, I'll take the word 'even' out, because we are going to be best friends. There won't be any relationship more important to us," Trump told the Republican Hindu Coalition's Victims of Terror charity concert to benefit Kashmir and Hindu refugees, according to ABC 7 Eyewitness News.

RHC founder Shalli Kumar is a supporter of Trump that the Republican presidential nominee's comments to Billy Bush recorded off-air in 2005 was "locker room talk."

"This is not where our political dialogue should be. It should be what's all happening in the world. Yet we are concerned about someone a lot of years ago making remarks like this. To me that's silly," Kumar said.

Assemblyman Raj Mukherj spoke against Trump outside the event at the New Jersey Convention Center and said he is wasting his time campaigning in New Jersey. "As the New York Times recently noted, seven percent of South Asian Americans polled planned to vote for Donald Trump. So you spend all the time you want right across the street from here," the Democrat from Jersey City said.
