Two Facing Charges After Strong Armed Robbery in Mays Landing
Two people from Newfield are now facing charges after a strong armed robbery last night in Mays Landing.
Hamilton Township Police say a woman was walking in the Festival at Hamilton Shopping Center off the Black Horse Pike Thursday night when Misty Riddle approached her and tried to take the purse off the victim’s shoulder. A struggle ensued; Riddle then fled with the purse to a car driven by Joshua McFarland, also of Newfield. A witness followed the suspects and contacted police and both people were taken into custody.
In addition to charges stemming from this robbery, McFarland had an unrelated warrant out for burglary and theft. Both subjects were taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility and purse was returned to the woman.
