Two people were injured in a crash involving a New Jersey Transit bus and a street sweeper early Monday morning in Galloway Township.

Officers say just after midnight Monday morning, a New Jersey Transit bus hit a street sweeper that was stopped at the intersection of the White Horse Pike and Damson Avenue for a red light. The bus left the roadway, struck a traffic light post, and came to rest in the woods. Two passengers were on the bus at the time of the collision; one passenger sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to ARMC-Mainland. The driver of the bus was trapped and was extricated by local fire companies; the driver sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The eastbound lanes of the White Horse Pike were closed off and on for approximately five hours. The bus driver, 38-year-old Yolanda Jamison of Franklinville, was charged with careless driving.
