Two people were injured in an accident on Route 40 in Hamilton Township Sunday night.

Just before 10:00 Sunday night, Hamilton Township police responded to an accident on Route 40 near Meadowbrook Drive for reports of a crash.  Upon arrival, officers found two vehicles with heavy damage in the middle of the roadway.  One driver, John Scott of Vineland, had to be extricated from his vehicle and was flown to ARMC City Campus for evaluation.  The other driver, Ursus Cortes of Long Branch, was transported to ARMC Mainland Campus for evaluation. Police say both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
