Two People Arrested Following a Traffic Stop in Atlantic City
A traffic stop by an Atlantic City police officer Tuesday afternoon led to two people being arrested and drugs and a gun being seized.
An ACPD officer stopped a car in the 1900 block of Blaine Avenue around 1:15 Tuesday afternoon after police the driver committed several motor vehicle violations. During that stop, an investigation led to the recovery of a handgun loaded with hollow-point ammunition, marijuana, and the prescription drug Xanax.
The occupants of the car, 19-year-old Tyrell Gist of Atlantic City and 20-year-old Lexis Clayborn of Hartspring, AR, were both taken into custody.
Gist is facing charges ranging from unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of hollow-point, and several drug-related offenses. Clayborn was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of hollow-point ammunition, and possession of marijuana. Both were remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility and bail was set at $100,000 for both people.
