The "last supper" was held Saturday at a pair of popular Ventnor eateries.

Sage and Lisa's, on the 5200 block of Ventnor Avenue, both owned and operated by Chef Lisa Savage, served their final meals this weekend.

According to Savage's bio, Sage Restaurant, formerly Savaradio, was her fifth restaurant, opened in May 2007.  Sage was awarded a Four Stars by the Press of Atlantic City that same year with an eclectic menu with of Mediterranean, Italian, Asian, Spanish and American cuisine.

Next door at Lisa's served breakfast, lunch and dinner, offering a more casual menu of pizza, pasta, salads and small plates.

Savage, who graduated with honors from the ACC's Culinary School and studied at the Italian Culinary Institute in Torino, Italy, also owned another location of Savaradio in Linwood a decade ago.  She will now concentrate on her Egg Harbor City pub Leatherhead's.

As a fan of both Sage and Lisa's, I can tell you that the closing of these two exceptional restaurants is a great loss for Downbeach.
