MMAJunkie.com reports the event will come to the Prudential Center in Newark on Saturday, February 1, the day before Super Bowl XLVIII is played at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.

For the past 10 years the pay-per-view event was held in Las Vegas.

The new Fox Sports 1 cable network inadvertently broke the news in a video shown at UFC's Fan Fest promoting events taking place during the week leading to the Super Bowl according to MMAJunkie.com.

After mentioning events scheduled for Madison Square Garden and Barclay Center in Brooklyn during the week, the video ended with, "Saturday night in primetime, it's the main event – the UFC live from the Prudential Center, all leading to Super Bowl XLVIII from MetLife Stadium, live on Fox."

No specific events have been announced for the event. Former Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight champion Frankie Edgar is from Toms River and was recently inducted into the Jersey Shore Hall of Fame.

A number has not been assigned to the Super Bowl event. However, MMAJunkie.com notes that UFC 166 is scheduled for October 19 in Houston, UFC 167 is November 16 in Las Vegas and UFC 168 takes place December 28 in Las Vegas and speculates the number could be 169.

The Rock will host the Super Bowl Media Day on Tuesday and has also hosted UFC events before, most recently UFC 159 in April.

Fox Sports will air the Super Bowl in 2014.
