New Jersey State Police have charged a Bayville man with shoplifting as the result of an April 7th theft of some $500 shrimp from a Cape May County store.

According to police, a detective from the Little Egg Harbor Police Department contacted State Police about a suspect he had in another shrimp shoplifting case.

State Police detectives interviewed the person in question, Christopher Wells, 33, of Bayville, and ended up charging him with shoplifting in regards to the incident at the Marmora Shoprite.

According to State Police, they are looking into the idea that Wells was stealing the shrimp, then reselling it.
