Ventnor Man Charged With Brutal Beating of His Father
A Ventnor man is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries and his son is being charged with aggravated assault and criminal mischief.
Ventnor Police responded to a N. Derby Avenue home Sunday at about 11am, where they found 60-year-old Michael Nelson with serious injuries caused by a beating to his head and body.
He underwent surgery at Atlantic City Medical Center and was listed in intensive care on Sunday night, according to police.
An investigation determined that Nelson's son, 30-year-old Thomas Nelson, had attacked his father. The younger Nelson was arrested and is being held in the Atlantic County Jail on $50,000 bail.
