Veteran Longport Police Officer Killed in Crash

A 21-year veteran of the Longport Police Department was killed in a traffic accident Monday evening.

The Press of Atlantic City is reporting Sgt. Charles (Tom) Adams was killed in a crash yesterday at the intersection of Route 40 and Tuckahoe Road in Franklin Township, Gloucester County. Sgt. Adams was off-duty at the time of the accident. Reports say Adams’ motorcycle collided with a SUV at the intersection. The accident remains under investigation.
