Wawa Plans to Hire 5,000 New Employees
Gotta have a Wawa, the slogan goes. And maybe gotta have a job at Wawa. too.
The convenience store chain with more than 700 stores in six states said in a statement it plans to hire more than 5,000 new employees over the next three months.
"We’re specifically looking for individuals who want to join our team for the busy summer season and as well those who might be interested in the start of a fulfilling career at Wawa," Dave Filano, manager of talent acquisition at Wawa, said in the statement.
Job openings exist at all of the chain's locations and some will host an Open House event to highlight their openings. Applications are also being accepted on the company's website.
More than 26,000 people are employed by the privately held Pennsylvania-based company. New stores are scheduled to open in Bridgewater and Somerdale this year.
