State Police say a man from West Creek was killed when two motorcycles crashed on Route 9 in Bass River Township early Sunday morning.

NJ.com reports the accident happened around 12:30 Sunday morning. Troopers say two motorcycles were traveling together on Route 9 near mile marker 58 when the lead bike was struck by the bike behind it. The rear motorcycle veered off the road and hit a guardrail.

The driver of the rear motorcycle, 26-year-old Zachary Strang of West Creek, was pronounced dead at the scene. A female passenger sustained moderate injuries. The driver of the lead motorcycle was not hurt.
