If you're a drug dealer and other dealers in the neighborhood are getting in the way of your sales, the Woolwich Township Police Department is taking a lighthearted approach to solving the problem: rat them out and eliminate the competition.

The department is taking cues from other law enforcement agencies across the country including New York and Kentucky. It even has a handy little form for drug dealers to fill out on its Facebook page that promises to be "Fast. Simple. 100 percent anonymous." Do police really want to help give some dealers a competitive edge over others? Not so much. The effort is a way for law enforcement to obtain information about possible drug activity in the municipality.

"We’re trying to be funny and informative at the same time. Showing them that we’re out there," Woolwich Police Detective Chris Beckett said Wednesday.

An image of the form that was posted to the Woolwich Township Police Department's Facebook page Tuesday states: "Attention Drug Dealers. is your drug dealing competition costing you money? We offer a FREE service to help you eliminate your drug competition!"

The form asks for detailed information including the "competition's" phone number, address as well as time and location when their sales generally take place. Tipsters can also provide information via cell phone, according to the Facebook page.

"To text a tip simply text GLOTIP + message to CRIMES (274637)," the Facebook page states. "Text a tip is sponsored by the GCPO."

Beckett said the Facebook post is part of the Gloucester County department's ongoing drug awareness and prevention efforts within the community.
