If you ride the SEPTA and are a smartphone user, your life is going to become way more convenient come next year.

According to Philly Voice, "The public transportation authority's board voted in October to adjust its contract with Conduent, the company that manages the SEPTA Key fare system, to upgrade fare boxes and turnstiles with Apple Pay and Google Pay-compatible hardware."

In a nutshell, that means you'll be able to pay for you train or bus fare via your smartphone. Currently you are able to use Apple Pay and Google Pay at fare kiosks but believe it or not this upgrade is even better.

"SEPTA said this upgrade will allow customers to use Apple Pay and Google Pay directly at the turnstiles, as wells at fare boxes on buses and trolleys.." via Philly Voice.

The upgrades will ending up costing SEPTA $4,396,372 and if you ask me, I say it's well worth it.
