Bomb Threat Clears Brigantine Beach

Police in Brigantine have ordered the Cove Beach Area cleared for an investigation this morning.

***COVE BEACH CLOSED: AVOID AREA***

The Cove beach has been closed by the Brigantine Police Department for an active police response for investigation. Please AVOID THE AREA until we advise it is safe to return.

The information was posted shortly after 11am.

Meanwhile The Press of Atlantic City is reporting the reason is a bomb scare:

“Somebody left a note with one of the permit checkers. When they came into work there was a note there and it said there was a bomb on the beach,” said Mayor Andy Simpson, reached by phone at 11 a.m. Saturday.
