Police say that the 2016 Kenworth T80 tri-axle dump truck was following behind the Nissan and failed to brake in time as the car tried to turn left.
The truck struck the driver's side of the car, sending both vehicles off the road. The truck overturned after hitting signs and trees.
Police said other motorists, State Police and Department of Corrections officers also stopped to assist.
