Eagles’ Center Jason Kelce Announces His Plans for 2020 Season

The Eagles will have their center back for the 2020 season.

Longtime starting center Jason Kelce, who has been with the team since he was drafted in the sixth-round in 2011, announced on Instagram Thursday that he will be returning for his 10th season with the team.

He said in the post, "I am fully excited for the 2020 season and will be out there with my teammates, coaches and hopefully the fans this season."

He went on to say that plenty of media members and fans had reached out to see if he was going to return in 2020, and said, "I just wanted to make an announcement so I can stop getting asked."

In the post, Kelce joked he'll be retiring from arm wrestling, he says with a 2-0 record, including a win over Flyers captain Claude Giroux.

Kelce did note that he played through a plethora of injuries last season including a sprained MCL.

Kelce has started 126 games for the Eagles since 2011, starting 16 games in all but two seasons. The football site Pro Football Focus ranked Kelce as their No. 1 overall center last season.

Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said this about Kelce, "He's one of the guys that just kind of epitomizes what we're all about; his toughness, his mental and physical toughness."
