A former Long Branch teacher who was arrested February 14 for sexually assaulting a 10-year-old student and showing her porn is now facing new charges for his period of heinous behavior.

Monmouth County Prosecutor Chris Gramiccioni announced Saturday that 53-year old Gustavo Barrientos of Tinton Falls has now been charged with sexually assaulting multiple elementary school children.

Barrientos, is a former elementary school teacher in the Long Branch School District and in the Red Bank Charter School.

Following his arrest, the Monmouth County Prosecutors Office and Long Branch Police were looking for additional information as they continued to investigate the incident.

Barrientos has now been charged with sexually assaulting multiple other elementary school children.

He is currently being held in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold Township pending a detention hearing.

Barrientos faces up to 10-years for each of the sexual assault charges carries a 10-year sentence each.

Gramiccioni said they are still seeking additional information about Barrientos’ activities.
