A suspect is in custody after a shooting on Navy property at a facility in Tennessee.

The shooting took place in front of a National Guard facility on an unsecured part of the Naval Support Activity Midsouth in Millington, near Memphis around 2:00 p.m.

According to Memphis television station WHBQ TV,  a Guard recruiter who had been relieved of duty randomly fired shots in the parking lot from his car and hit two National Guard soldiers. The shooter was quickly taken into custody by members of the National Guard. The suspect refused medical treatment but police insisted he be checked out.

The victims' injuries are considered non-life threatening. WREG TV reports one was shot in the leg and another in the foot.

According to its Facebook page, Naval Support Activity Midsouth is a human resources center for the U.S. Navy. More than 7,500 military, civilian and contract personnel work there.
