The 31-year-old Hardy, of Lower Alloways Creek, has been charged with third-degree theft, third degree misapplication of entrusted property, and third degree theft by failure to make required disposition of property received.

This is an unusual case.

Hardy was employed by the high school between the summer of 2019 and February of 2024.

Authorities say that while he served as the school’s Athletic Director, he allegedly rented the school’s turf field to local organizations.

It is alleged that on various dates, he rented the field to area organizations in return for payments.

Authorities were tipped off and conducted an investigation.

That investigation found that there were no contracts or records of payments being made to the school.

During the investigation, police allegedly uncovered financial records that revealed stolen funds over $17,000 that were deposited into Hardy’s private account.

Detectives from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, in collaboration with the Cherry Hill Police Department, served a summons on Hardy at his Lower Alloway Creek home on January 7.

Police are trying to determine if there are more victims of this crime.

They are asking anyone with information to contact the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit at 856-225-8642.

You can also contact Detective Dennis Moore of the Cherry Hill Police Department at 856-432-8827,

All tips can be submitted anonymously.

All suspects are considered innocent until proven otherwise in a court of law.
