Eagles Surprise New Orleans Attack Victim With Super Bowl Tix
Ryan Quigley, the 26-year-old Philadelphia Eagles fan who was seriously injured and lost his best friend in the New Year's terrorist attack in New Orleans will be going to the big game on Sunday courtesy of the Eagles.
The team gifted the former Princeton University football player two tickets to the Super Bowl after inviting him to the Bird's practice facility last week to meet with the players.
Ryan Quigley Lost His Best Friend
Quigley and his former Princeton football teammate and best friend Tiger Bech were celebrating the New Year on Bourbon Street when an Army veteran drove a rented truck through the crowd killing 14 people and injuring dozens more.
Tiger Bech died from his wounds and Ryan Quigley was left with multiple injuries.
The friends had worked together at a brokerage firm in New York City and frequently traveled down to Philly to watch Eagles games together.
When the Eagles heard about their love for the team, they decided to invite Ryan in for a visit.
Brandon Graham Surprises Injured Fan With Super Bowl Tickets
Video of the surprise ticket presentation shows Ryan Quigley talking with the Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham during a tour of the practice facility.
Then Graham delivered the big surprise.
"We wanted to tell you the real reason we brought you," began Graham. "It’s okay if you’re not feeling it, but we would love to have you down for the Super Bowl."
"We know it’s in New Orleans and we understand, and so if you up for it, you’re there."
"Tiger was the biggest fan," said Quigley. "We went to every home game last year."
"All year… I told him, if we make it, ‘I promise I’m gonna take you to the Super Bowl.’ So, I’d love nothing more than to still take him," he continued.
Graham responded, "He living through you."
Quigley and Graham hugged as Quigley became emotional remembering his friend Tiger Bech.
