Sea Isle Church: Dress Warmly, The Heater’s Broken

The church heater is broken, so everybody must pray for warmth.

That's not exactly the message from St. Joseph Catholic Church on Landis Avenue in Sea Isle City, but the church is advising parishioners to bundle up when they come to mass for the next few weeks.

Sunday's Service Was a Chilly One

St. Joe's in Sea Isle City is usually a warm and loving place, but the church admits you may feel a cold breeze these days.

The church posted on Facebook this week to inform parishioners that last Sunday's service felt so chilly because the heater was blowing cold air, not hot.

As some of you may attest, the church was blowing cold air instead of heat on Sunday morning. This situation was one that we could not internally resolve, and we reached out to our HVAC provider on Monday to assess the situation.

 

Church Heater Is On The Fritz

The church contacted its HVAC company this week and was told that the fans that generate the building's heat are kaput.

Much to our surprise, it was discovered that our two-roof top heat inducer fans which provide heat to the church no longer work and require replacement.

 

The equipment has been ordered; however, it is on back order and will not be available until later in December. The equipment cost is $5,000 and this does not include shipping cost and installation, which requires a crane.

 

A Heater Collection Will Be Taken

St Joe's is putting out the word that they need everyone to dig a little deeper at this Sunday's service to feel the warmth of God's message during a cold winter ahead.
