😋   Vic's Deli is located in Absecon

😋   Sandwiches made fresh

😋   Family-owned since the 40s

Back in January, I shared my thoughts about Vic’s Sub Shop in Absecon.

Since then, I’ve been on a mission to see if any other sub-spots could compete.

While I’ve come across some really good ones, nothing has knocked Vic’s off the top of my list.

Tucked into what looks more like someone’s home than a business, Vic’s Sub Shop at 742 Ohio Avenue has been serving up incredible sandwiches since the 1940s.

It’s a true local gem—family-owned, full of charm, and bursting with flavor.

As soon as you step out of your car, the mouthwatering aroma of cheesesteaks hits you.

It’s the kind of smell that makes your stomach rumble in anticipation.

And let me tell you, the taste lives up to the hype.

My personal favorite is their cheesesteak with mushrooms and onions—every bite is just as mind-blowing as the first time I tried it.

My wife, on the other hand, swears by their Italian sub with the works.

And honestly? She’s not wrong—it’s perfection.

One thing you’ll notice right away: Vic’s doesn’t skimp.

Their half-sub is huge, easily enough for one person (and often enough for two if you’re not too hungry).

But it’s not just about quantity. They don’t cut corners on quality either.

Every ingredient is fresh and full of flavor.

Let’s talk about the bread—because if you know subs, you know the bread can make or break it.

Vic’s uses rolls from Atlantic City Bread, delivered fresh several times a day.

That kind of attention to detail makes all the difference.

Oh, and don’t sleep on their fries. They’re the perfect sidekick to your sandwich.

Here’s the deal: Vic’s isn’t a dine-in spot.

Everything is made fresh to order, so calling ahead is a smart move.

Whether you’re picking up or getting delivery, just be prepared to wait a bit—it’s worth it.

The friendly service adds to the charm.

They’ve been around so long that they know many of their customers by name.

If you haven’t tried Vic’s yet, do yourself a favor and make it your next stop.

Trust me, you’ll be hooked!
