Wawa Recalls Certain Drink Tumblers – Refund Information
Wawa announced a recall Thursday of 60,000 drink tumblers, citing an issue of the cup's metal straw possibly cutting your lip.
Wawa has established a $15 refund in the form of a gift card.
Wawa Recalls 60,000 Drink Tumblers
This recall involves a reusable Wawa-branded tumbler with a metal straw.
The plastic tumblers come in four styles:
- “The Mermaid” which is pink/green
- “Island Surf” which is blue/yellow
- “Sailor Breeze” which is tan/orange
- “The Galaxy” which is blue/pink
The tumblers come in the 24-ounce size with a tan lid. Wawa is imprinted on the tumblers.
Several People have Been Injured Using the Tumblers
According to a notice published by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the metal straw inside the now-recalled tumblers can cut a user's mouth and/or fingers.
Four injuries have been reported to date.
The tumblers were sold at Wawa stores in New Jersey as well as Alabama, Washington D.C., Delaware, Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Maryland in August 2024 for about $13.
What You Should Do If You Have One
If you have one of these tumblers, you should stop using it immediately.
You are being advised not to try returning your drink tumbler to a Wawa store.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says to stop using these metal straws immediately and contact Halo Branding Solutions, the products' distributor, for a silicone replacement.
If you want to return the tumbler, you can receive a $15 gift card refund.
Proof of purchase -- a receipt-- is not required to receive a replacement or refund. HALO will provide a pre-paid label for shipping the recalled units.
You can find more information on Halo's website.
