Deadpool & Wolverine Breaks Box Office Records Thanks To New Jersey
The blockbuster movie of 2024 has been Deadpool & Wolverine, breaking numerous box office records before Marvel Studios announced it would come to the Disney+ Streaming Service in November.
The Action Comedy movie starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman has become the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time (over $1.3 billion). The film earned its R-rating thanks to embellished violence, vulgar humor, and over-the-top satire.
But movie tickets are more expensive today, up 77 percent over the last 20 years. With the average ticket price of $10.78 in the United States, approximately 121 Million tickets have been sold to see Deadpool & Wolverine in movie theaters.
Compare that to when The Matrix Reloaded gross box office was $741.8 million in 2003. Thanks to the average ticket price being $6.03 over 20 years ago, 123 Million tickets were sold to see the sequel to the famous sci-fi action film The Matrix.
But Deadpool and Wolverine has become the 12th Highest Grossing Movie at the Domestic Box Office in United States history. Only four Marvel Movies are ranked ahead on this list: Avengers Infinity War (8th), Black Panther (6th), Spiderman No Way Home (3rd), and Avengers Endgame (2nd).
