Atlantic City Police have arrested a man who tried hiding from them in the backseat of car, next to two children - one of whom was in a child car seat.

Police say they arrested Naim Jackson, 28, of Atlantic City and charged him with, "unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, certain persons not to possess a weapon, endangering the welfare of a child, and aggravated assault."

According to a report,police responded to a ShotSpotter notification Saturday night at South Carolina and Adriatic Avenues. Officers found shell casings on the ground, and a quick investigation allowed police to identify a suspect and a vehicle he was in at the time.

Police later located the vehicle on Caspian Avenue, where Jackson was found hiding in the backseat with the children. A handgun was also found in the car.
