Manahawkin Resident Arrested After Shooting a Gun Outside Home

For reasons currently unknown, a Manahawkin man went outside late Wednesday night and began firing a pistol in the front yard.

Stafford Police Officers arrived to the area of Rudder Avenue in Ocean Acres after a flurry of 911 calls came around 9:55 PM about multiple gun shots being fired.

Police found multiple handgun shell casings outside the property as well as two handguns and one rifle inside the residence and then arrested 36-year old Joshua Posey who is being charged with 2 counts of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Improper Behavior, Obstruction and Unlawful Discharge of a Weapon.

There were no injuries reported.

Posey was processed at the Stafford Police Department and the brought to the Ocean County Jail.
