An 18-year-old Mays Landing man was arrested for burglary and other charges after a late night of mischief in town.

Hamilton Township Police say an officer responded to a burglar alarm at 2:30am Sunday at Liberty Fuel on Main Street at Liberty Avenue.

As the officers arrived at the scene, Officer Ware immediately noticed there were signs of forced entry to the business and vehicles parked at the business had been burglarized.  Sergeant Robell and his K-9 partner, Kota, began checking the area for any possible suspects.  K-9 Kota immediately began to track the suspect, later identified as Alfredo Ferraro age 18 of Mays Landing, who was located hiding under a parked vehicle. Ferraro resisted arrest and kicked K-9 Kota in the head.  K-9 Kota apprehended Ferraro and he was arrested without further incident.  Ferraro was transported to Atlanticare- Mainland Division by Township of Hamilton Rescue Squad for minor injuries. Ferraro was charged with Burglary, Criminal Mischief, Theft, Resisting Arrest and Assault on a Police K-9.
