Ocean City’s Playland Installs New Double Shot Ride

My daughters' favorite ride on the Ocean City Boardwalk is getting an off-season makeover, designed to make your stomach drop even faster than before, if that's possible.

The Double Shot at Playland Castaway Cove, 10th and the Boardwalk, is being replaced with a new Double Shot which Playland promises will make for an even smoother ride, as it lifts you 80 feet in 3 seconds before dropping you back down at 35 mph.

The Double Shot is described by Wikipedia as a type of drop tower amusement ride that uses compressed air to rapidly propel riders up the tower then gently lower them with a series of air-cushioned bounces back to the loading platform.

You will have to let me know how you like it this summer, because the Double Shot is another amusement ride I'm only too happy to experience from the sidelines, now that I've become a scared old guy.
