Another rabies case in Atlantic County has been confirmed.

The Press of Atlantic City reports that a raccoon has tested positive for the viral disease.

The rabid raccoon was found on Walnut Avenue in Egg Harbor Township, according to the report. The animal was caught by Wildlife Aid after biting a dog at the homeowners residence. The dog was up to date with its rabies vaccine.

The first reported case of rabies in Atlantic County came this past April when a rabid raccoon was also captured in Northfield and was confirmed to have rabies.
