The Phillies have reportedly selected their next manager.

The Phillies conducted a short search that included veterans Buck Showalter, Dusty Baker, and Joe Girardi.  The Phillies appear to have made their choice.

A day off during the World Series is a preferred day to make an announcements as Major League Baseball prefers teams do not compete with the big games.

All three candidates came with extensive experience managing, but Girardi was the lone name with a World Series title as manager. That World Series victory came against the Phillies in 2009.  Girardi also won three World Series as a player.

With a manager in place, the Phillies can get to work on assembling their 2020 roster.
